Thunder Over the Boardwalk

August 07, 2017

Since its inception in 2003, Thunder Over the Boardwalk has been an exciting and widely-anticipated annual air show. Also known as the Atlantic City Air Show, the event is held every summer over the Atlantic City boardwalk, and has become the benchmark for beachfront air shows, as well as Atlantic City’s signature summer event. August 23rd will be the air show’s 15th anniversary, featuring flybys and demonstrations from lows of only 50 feet above the water, to heights of 15,000 feet in front of the city’s skyline.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will return for 2017’s show. This USAF air demonstration squadron is based at Nellis AFB in Nevada. Their precision and accuracy are legendary during their stunning aerial demonstrations using the F-16C Fighting Falcon, along with the F-16D twin seat trainers. The 2017 show will also feature a U.S. Navy F18 Super Hornet, the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, Jim Beasley Jr.’s P51D Mustang demonstration, and the GEICO Skytypers.
